Reported to CEO of multi-million dollar mobile marketing start-up. Key accountabilities include: building industry relationships with broadcasters, sports leagues and teams. Doubled business by leading efforts to win accounts with Champ Car, Rainbow Push Coalition, Live Earth and the NFL Network. Worked with Chairman of the Board, CFO and CEO on meetings and proposals with venture capital firms. Recruited and managed technical and client support teams.
2005 Intersport, Inc.
Vice President, Marketing
Reported to the Senior Vice President and General Manager to build properties through advertising and public relation. Direct liason with marketing, promotions and public relations with ABC, CBS, ESPN, FOX and NBC for shows and properties produced by Intersport. Wrote and placed op-ed article in Advertising Age (June, 2005) under the byline of CEO Charles N. Besser. Built a new interactive marketing strategy that included the building and launching of the new intersportonline.com. Executed a marketing strategy that led to the elimination of rating erosion from overnights to finals.
2003 – 2004 Toronto Blue Jays
Director, Consumer Marketing
Responsible for advertising, promotions and game entertainment departments. Total budget $4.6 million with a staff of eight people. In the first year, attendance climbed 10%, television ratings were up over 30% and unique visitors to bluejays.com was up over 66%. Ticket sales were up 36% for day-of-game walk-up, 48% for advance sales and 51% on the internet. Registered users on the internet increase from 30,000 to 75,000.
¨ National Sports Forum award for best print campaign in sports (2003).
¨ Wrote grant proposal and received grant from Ontario Ministry of Tourism and Recreation ($400,000) to market to Blue Jays games as part of SARS recovery program.
1995 – 2002 Oakland Athletics
Director, Marketing Communications
Responsible for team web site oaklandathletics.com, corporate communications planning and execution, writing and distribution of press releases as well as the creation, development and targeting of the A’s advertising campaign ($1.5 million cash, $2.5 million trade budget). Since January, 2000 the website traffic has tripled over the previous season. In 2000, on-line ticket sales grew by 149% over the previous season’s total and in 2001, on-line ticket sales increased 300%. Member, Major League Baseball Survey Committee (1998).
¨ Wrote over thirty speeches for the team owner and the president and drafted confidential league correspondence for team owner and president.

Developed and produced the Oakland A’s post-game call-in show titled Extra Innings. Produced and wrote A’s pre-game features. Worked as liason between KFRC and the broadcast operations of the Oakland A’s and the San Jose Sharks. Reported on breaking news, covered the Stanley Cup playoffs, the NFC playoffs and championships, as well as Super Bowl XXIX.

Wrote and produced the Oakland A’s pre-game features titled the Oakland A’s History Minute and Dan’s Dugout. Developed and produced the Sports 910 nightly call-in show. During this time, also worked with the San Jose Sharks on their broadcasts.
